The 30th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held from 10 to 21 November 2025, gathers delegates from nearly 200 countries in the heart of the Amazon forest on the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the Paris Agreement.

Negotiators have been tasked with reviving the Paris spirit at times of revived geopolitical rivalries and decreasing attention to climate policies, while the world heads towards Paris-incompatible emissions scenarios. Climate change adaptation, the role of national planning through the NDC cycle, and climate finance remain critical issues as the Agreement navigates its first years of actual operation, amid increasing polarisation between historical polluters and new emerging economies.

This workshop will offer a stimulating debate on the key outcomes as well as on the next steps that will determine the future of global climate policy. In the last part of the workshop all participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the debate by asking questions or sharing their perspectives.
