As digital innovation reshapes the global financial landscape, the way we pay and the money we use are undergoing a profound transformation. This technological shift presents both risks and opportunities for the euro.

Join Agnès Bénassy-Quéré, Second Deputy Governor of the Banque de France, for this EMU Lab lecture, where she will present how the Eurosystem is addressing this challenge.

A lack of reactivity could result in a loss of monetary sovereignty. Conversely, a transformation of how central bank money is provided and exchanged could contribute to European financial integration and to a multipolarisation of the international monetary system.
