The study makes the case for a mission-driven, EU-wide investment vehicle to address the systemic underfunding of the open digital infrastructure on which Europe depends.This interdisciplinary event caters to an academic audience from diverse research backgrounds. The discussion will explore the report’s proposals for new avenues of technology governance within the current geopolitical climate. It will also outline the role of open-source technologies in contemporary society and examine novel governance arrangements for strategic investment in digital infrastructure, including the model represented by Germany’s Sovereign Tech Agency.The overarching question will be how the EU can shape its digital future.
