Organised by

In the framework of the EUI Widening Europe Programme, this online school is intended to provide postgraduate students and practical researchers with an introduction to multi-methods research in the social sciences.

Over five afternoon sessions, the school will cover theories of multi-method research, qualitative interviews, and ethnographic fieldwork as well as an introduction to social network analysis using GEPHI. Sessions will cover the practical challenges of conducting such research as well as introducing various techniques involved. Upon completion of the course, participants will be provided with a certificate of completion including the dates and methods covered during the school. There is no registration fee and participants are only required to have a computer capable of running Zoom and GEPHI, for the social network analysis.

The school will take place on 24-28 November 2025, from 16-18:00 (CET) online (Zoom). Registration for the course is open until 17 November 2025 EOD.

Spaces are limited to 20 people and priority will be given to scholars from EUI Widening Countries.[1]

Interested scholars are required to pre-register for the event. The application will be evaluated and everyone will receive a registration confirmation (or rejection) email. Accepted participants will receive the Zoom link to attend the online course.

This course is funded by the EUI Widening Europe Programme. The EUI Widening Europe Programme initiative, backed by contributions from the European Union and EUI Contracting States, is designed to strengthen internationalisation, competitiveness, and quality in research in Widening countries, and thus foster a more cohesive European Higher Education and Research area.
