From studying financialisation to the analysis of financial circuits

This talk will be based on a recent co-edited book published only in French so far. Its title in English could be translated as 'The sociology of financial circuits. Money infrastructures and their politics'.

Professor Chiapello will explain how and why her early work on financialisation required the concept of financial circuits and how this concept gradually gained importance as she became more interested in public policies and their financialisation. This led her and a team of young researchers to try to consolidate this concept on a theoretical level and to publish the above-mentioned book. She will conclude by highlighting what this concept allows us to do and see.
