War has forcefully returned to public attention, fundamentally transforming economic life, from energy crises and disrupted supply chains to new public spending regimes, infrastructure expansions and an ever-evolving military-industrial complex. This year, the Economic History and Ideas Working Group's Workshop aims to unpack this impact across various historical contexts, delving into the consequences of conflict from the early modern to the contemporary period. From a historical perspective, the economic footprint of war has consistently brought about significant changes across affected societies in realms such as labour, budgets, finance, and gender dynamics, among others. For further information, please check the working group's website. Please register to get a seat or to receive the ZOOM linkImage: 'Mechanics salvaging parts out of wrecked planes during WWI' Register Attachments HEC Events - Privacy Statement - Sept 2021.pdf CfP Economic History and Ideas 2026.pdf
