In this information session you will discover the requirements and benefits of data registration, archiving, and sharing, and how the process can contribute to your career.

As you conduct your research, all information underpinning your claims and allowing others to verify them is your data, whether quantitative, qualitative, or expressed as numbers, text, images, audio, or video. Under the principle that research data shall be as open as possible and as closed as necessary , we will guide you through a journey that will keep your data standing out and alive, even beyond the lifespan of your specific research project.

This session, organised in the context of Love Data Week 2026, is the beginning of an EUI-wide campaign to make research datasets produced at the EUI as visible and impactful as possible.

Academics at every level are invited to participate!

BONUS: During the session, you will be invited to express your needs in terms of:

  • Data needs: Do you know of a data platform that is of interest to you and your research cohort but is not available through the EUI Library Data Portal?
  • Infrastructure needs: Is the EUI providing all the infrastructure and tools for your data related work?
  • Training needs: Would you like us to organise training on a specific data-related topic (data management and curation, data platforms and tools, data visualisation, data archiving and sharing)?
