The inaugural EUSI Policy Dialogue examined how Europe should adapt its security and defence strategy amid evolving transatlantic relations and growing debates on strategic autonomy and deterrence.
The first edition of the EUSI Policy Dialogues took place in the Senate of the Republic of Poland following the informal gathering of the EU Defence Ministers. The programme opened with a presentation from Polish Secretaries of State and Undersecretary of State on Poland’s role in the European Defence Union. It was followed by two panels, the key strategic questions of (I) European strategic autonomy in a changing transatlantic context, and (ii) the future of nuclear deterrence in Europe. The meeting closed with a summary discussion and outlook, followed by a lunch for participants.
