SPS - Departmental Hike - 50th anniversary

As part of the EUI 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Department of Political and Social Sciences invites its former community and alumni to a guided hike in the Parco Mediceo di Pratolino in Florence on Saturday 9 May 2026 in the morning.

Across fifty years, the SPS Department and the EUI have built a transnational network of scholars whose connections extend well beyond their time in Florence. This initiative offers a simple occasion to reconnect within that network, bringing together alumni, faculty, researchers, and staff in an informal setting shaped by conversation rather than formal panels.

Taking place alongside the broader EUI 50^th anniversary programme, which combines institutional events, academic debate, and public engagement across Florence and Fiesole, the hike focuses reactivating the SPS community as a living network across generations.

Registration is required. Those wishing to take part are invited to contact marco.pistolesi@eui.eu, stating their name, current affiliation, and connection to the SPS Department. They will then receive the registration form together with further practical information.
