This session is part of the EUI Climate Week 2026
Europe’s clean industrial transformation cannot succeed in isolation. As global geoeconomic tensions intensify and clean-tech supply chains become increasingly strategic, the EU must pair its internal policy architecture with a credible external agenda. The Clean Industrial Deal includes for that reason the development of Clean Trade and Investment Partnerships (CTIPs) with external partners. Moreover, the growing importance of the security dimension makes the question of diversification even more pertinent.
This session as part of EUI Climate Week aims to address the question of how Europe can balance openness with strategic protection to anchor clean industry, secure critical inputs and resilient value chains, and manage foreign investment—particularly from China—in its clean‑tech supply chains.
