This informal meeting of the Qualifie working group aims to provide a space for researchers who have recently returned from fieldwork or similar research experiences to exchange their perspectives and experiences.

Much of the research conducted at the EUI involves face-to-face interactions with research participants, fieldwork, and engagement with sensitive topics. This type of research can present numerous challenges. To help address some of these challenges and to support researchers at all career levels in building a sense of community, we are continuing our Post-Fieldwork Debriefing Space.

Following our first meeting, we would like to invite you to join us again for a second session. We, senior researchers and post-docs, together with Qualifie, seek to maintain an informal space for those who have recently returned from fieldwork or similar research experiences and/or would benefit from exchanging perspectives.

This debriefing space focuses on the experiences of researchers engaged in qualitative research (ranging from archival work to fieldwork and other forms of engagement) and the complexities these experiences can entail. Our aim is to foster a safe and supportive environment for discussing and sharing experiences, as well as identifying resources to navigate the challenges EUI researchers may face. Complementing existing post-fieldwork support and professional resources, this space offers an opportunity to collectively reflect, exchange, and learn.

The space is open to EUI members at all career stages and from all departments. It is particularly intended for those who have conducted fieldwork or related research (recently or in the past), as discussions will center on concrete challenges that may arise during and after such experiences.
