This session of the Library’s Book Talks Series will feature a presentation and discussion of Colonialism and the EU Legal Order (Cambridge University Press, 2025), edited by Hanna Eklund, Fernand Braudel Fellow at the Law Department. The book offers a timely and critical examination of how colonialism is still shaping EU Law.

In conversation with the editor, Luca Tenreira and Remicard Sereme (Law Department) will explore the volume’s central arguments, and contributions to current debates on how law sustains colonialism in different parts of the world, historically as well as today.

The second part of the event will shift focus to publishing practices, offering a candid reflection on the process of editing and producing an academic book. Topics will include current publishing models, the practical and intellectual challenges of coordinating multi author volumes, and broader considerations around access, dissemination, and the evolving landscape of scholarly communication.

The session aims to foster an open and constructive dialogue on both the substance of the book and the wider ecosystem in which academic knowledge is produced.

The event will take place in the Library Stockholm room at Badia Fiesolana.
