I draw on the wide-ranging work of my ERC Advanced ‘20th century International Economic Thinking and the Complex History of Globalization’, and the gender-specific findings of that study. My aim is to reflect on ‘the economy’ as a product of political thinking in international spaces - to parse a thick history of how politics is understood, and the difference international institutions made in the 20th century.
