As part of the European University Institute's 50th Anniversary celebrations, the exhibition will be open to the public on Sunday, 27 September, in partnership with Corri la Vita. EUI volunteers will welcome visitors throughout the day, while art historians from MUS.E will lead guided tours of the exhibition.
To mark its 50th anniversary, the European University Institute presents OPEN, hosted at Palazzo Buontalenti (Via Cavour 53), the historic site of Francesco I de’ Medici’s alchemical laboratory. Made accessible to the public thanks to the Agenzia del Demanio and the support of EUI partners, the exhibition creates a dialogue between contemporary art and academic research, exploring themes such as accumulation, depletion, irreversibility and transformation.
Curated by Sergio Risaliti and Stefania Rispoli, and inspired by the research of Johanna Gautier-Morin, OPEN features works by Agnieszka Polska, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Eglė Budvytytė, Elena Mazzi, Leone Contini, Riccardo Previdi and Pierre Chastel.
On Sunday, 27 September, EUI volunteers will welcome Corri la Vita participants, while art historians from MUS.E will lead guided tours. Free admission with or without reservation. Advance booking via Eventbrite is recommended for guided tours.
