How did your time as a Policy Leader Fellow influence you professionally and personally?

After my fellowship, I worked for the Polish government creating a kind of policy, trying to reshape or restore the rule of law and that was something that started here in classes. My radio show, that's also something that I developed here during my fellowship. It was not a perfect time for Europe, the world was coming out of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine started but for me, it was a life changing experience.

Spending five months as a Policy Leader Fellow, meeting new friends from all over the world, learning from them, learning from professors, learning from the situation that we were in. Being here, attending the classes, being here with the professors, with the PhD students, with other fellows, it taught me a lot.

Being here gave me a lot, and I'm still so grateful to all the people here at the EUI for the opportunity and especially for the European Union.

And Florence. It’s a place that's kind of magical, amazing. It's Europe in a nutshell.

Is there a particular moment during the PLF programme that sticks out in your memory, and why?

Of course – conversations with professors and students, every visit to the library, and even the shuttle bus ride from Bouontalenti to the Badia. Every such occasion led to an exchange of thoughts and ideas. It showed just how many shades the world has, and how many challenges still await a solution.

What advice would you give to current and future fellows at the EUI?

Be curious. Be hungry, be active, be creative. And then you will become a better human being.
