Corneille Bruck served the European Investment Bank (EIB) for many years, and was a Vice-President from July 1993 to June 1995, under the Presidency of Sir Brian Unwin. Prior to his nomination as EIB Vice-President Mr Bruck was Director of the Board of Directors of EIB and Chairman of EIB's Audit Committee.
At the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU), documents pertaining to his participation in these governing bodies are included in the collections of the European Investment Bank, the European Court of Auditors and the Council of the European Union, and are available under the thirty-years rule (until 1990).
Corneille Bruck was known for his commitment to European integration. In addition, as EIB President Hoyer remarked, “As the first Vice-President hailing from Luxembourg, Corneille Bruck left a lasting legacy both inside and outside the EIB, further cementing our relationship with the country that has hosted us since the early 1960s.”
The HAEU expresses its deepest condolences to Corneille Bruck’s family, friends and former colleagues at the EIB.
