Law alumna Leticia Díez Sánchez has received the First Place Award for the best doctoral thesis in European Law in the 2022 European Law Faculties Association Awards, and the Thesis Prize from the European Public Law Organization.

"I feel very grateful for the support I received while writing my PhD thesis at the EUI. I believe these awards reflect the great mentoring I had by all the professors I worked with, but also the great infrastructures and organisation put in place by the EUI staff," shares Sánchez.

Last May, she was awarded the 2022 Mauro Cappelletti Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Comparative and European Law for her dissertation Integration through Law and its Discontents: Unveiling the distributive impact of judge-made law in the EU. She defended her thesis on 21 October 2021, under the supervision of Professor Loïc Azoulai.
