The Florence School of Regulation (FSR) publishes a monthly blog series titled 'Topic of the Month' offering insights on relevant issues in International energy economics, law, policy, technology and how these various sectors intertwine.

For the June 2021 edition, Part-time Professor Andris Piebalgs and Athir Nouicer (Research Associate) set out to examine the large-scale changes currently taking place in energy security, whose focus has evolved from a task dedicated to simply preserving a steady and reserve supply of oil, gas and electricity, into a complicated interdisciplinary process that is forced to  dercabonisation and energy efficiency requirements into consideration.

Their blogpost, 'Paradigm shift in energy security agenda', also explores how issues such as cybersecurity, as seen by the repercussions of the recent Colonial Pipeline cyber-attack in the United States, will impact the global energy mix situation. It concludes by suggesting possible paths for new energy security architecture through bilateral dialogues.
