The 13th edition of The State of The Union conference (SOU2023) gathered policymakers, top scholars, and world-renowned experts at the European University Institute in Florence to discuss 'Building Europe in times of uncertainty'. In a fresh "three questions" video interview series, key speakers give a sense of how SOU2023 advanced the debate on foreign relations, the economy, climate, energy, and technology.
The 13 video interviews will be published on EUI TV (YouTube) one at a time during the summer months.
In the first episode, launched today, European Parliament Vice-President Dita Charanzová talks about creating the right business environment for tech firms. At SOU2023, Charanzová intervened during a session that addressed the question "Should the European Union create its own superstar tech firms?"
The second episode, which will go live on Friday, 16 June, features Stefano Manservisi on how to move from aid to partnerships. Manservisi is a former Director-General at the European Commission and Adjunct Professor at the EUI School of Transnational Governance.
Other episodes (full overview below) include European Commissioner Mairead McGuinness on finance and the global economy; former Slovenian President Borut Pahor on security; and European Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski on the future of EU agriculture.
Watch the first episode with Dita Charanzová and subscribe to EUI TV to get notifications about upcoming episodes.
