Building on the first season, which hosted insightful discussions, expert interviews, and deep dives into thought-provoking topics, this new season will continue to explore pressing topics in EU energy and climate policy, featuring discussions with leading experts and authors of the latest FSR Policy Briefs.

From the EU’s energy crisis to industrial decarbonisation and regulatory developments, the podcast provides a platform for in-depth conversations with policymakers, academics, and industry leaders to analyse and discuss the latest developments in EU energy and climate policy.

The first episode features Emma Menegatti, who explores how capacity markets in the European electricity sector can be streamlined for better security of supply and market efficiency. Building on her recent Policy Brief, the discussion unpacks the fundamentals of capacity mechanisms—what they are, why they matter, and the key reforms underway. The episode also examines how relaxing cross-border requirements could enhance their effectiveness.
