Zooming in on the candidates for OECD Secretary General

STG Director Alex Stubb interviewed candidates Anna Diamantopoulou, Philipp Hildebrand and Cecilia Malmström about their priorities as the race for OECD Secretary General approaches the finish line.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation that works to build better policies for better lives. The OECD Council will soon select a candidate to succeed the current Secretary-General, Angel Gurría, for a five-year term that will begin on 1 June 2021.

STG Director Alex Stubb asked three of the four final candidates about their priorities for the OECD, while getting a glimpse of the person behind each candidate.

Anna Diamantopoulou is a former European Commissioner and former government Minister in Greece currently serving as President of the Athens-based think tank "DIKTIO" Network for Reform in Greece and Europe.

Philipp Hildebrand is a former head of the Swiss central bank and currently Vice-Chairman of BlackRock.

Cecilia Malmström is a former European Commissioner and former government Minister in Sweden.
