Biography

Francisco de Abreu Duarte is an Assistant Professor in Innovation, Law and Platform Governance at the School of Transnational Governance, European University Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the European University Institute focusing on Law & Technology and two LLM degrees from New York University (NYU) and the European University Institute. Francisco has worked at the intersection of law, policy, and technological innovation, serving as an assistant professor in several European law faculties, a legal advisor to both the Portuguese Government and the European Parliament, and the co-founder and developer of Lexstream legal learning platform. He is also one of the co-founders, developer and current Editor-in-Chief of the popular Law & Tech blog DigiCon.
