Biography

Albert Ferrari is a Research Associate at the Climate Area of the Florence School of Regulation since January 2020. He coordinates the daily activities of the Area, including stakeholder engagement, administration, research and dissemination. Since 2022, he leads the participation of FSR in the Energy Communities Repository of the European Commission. As of 2023, Albert is also managing the participation of the unit in the projects LIFE COASE, CAPABLE and SPES. He also supports research on climate policies. His main research interests are energy communities, EU renewable energy policy as well as carbon markets. Albert is also the host of the FSR podcast series Spot on Climate. He managed the delivery of the EU-funded project LIFE DICET and contributed to INNOPATHS.
Before joining FSR Climate, he was managing the public affairs of Enercoop, the main renewable energy cooperative in France, monitoring EU and national energy policy developments as well as engaging with external stakeholders. Prior to that, he has gained professional experience at the European Commission, where he was supporting DG Climate Action in implementing the EU Emission Trading System and carbon leakage measures. He has also been responsible for the development of the project Energie Solidaire against energy poverty and has worked for several environmental NGOs.
Albert graduated in 2012 from Sciences Po Strasbourg with a double Master Degree in Energy and Sustainability Law and Management as well as in Public Affairs and Administration.
