Biography

Ulvi Aliyev is a mid-senior level government official with 15 years of experience in migration management, international relations, public policy and project management. He has effectively coordinated activities with international partners for advancing role of Azerbaijan in global migration agenda through his role at the State Migration Service (SMS). At the SMS he is responsible for international cooperation where he also led efforts paving the way for active involvement in global and regional platforms in the migration sphere.

He has a bachelor’s degree in regional studies from Baku State University and also completed diploma programme on migration management at the Maastricht School of Governance. He is fluent in Turkish and English, with working knowledge of Russian.
