Biography

Christian Dietz is a Research Associate in the Climate Team at the Florence School of Transnational Governance.

Before joining STG Climate, he worked as a climate policy researcher at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels. His work focused on the Clean Industrial Deal, climate governance and carbon pricing. In this role, he co-authored a wide range of publications, including in-depth studies, policy briefs and op-eds, covering topics such as the implementation of the Paris Agreement, the EU’s transition to electric vehicles, international carbon credits and the development of lead markets for low-carbon and sustainable products.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a sustainability consultant, specialising in product and corporate carbon footprints. He also gained field experience as a consultant with the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Southern Africa, contributing to policy analysis, programme design and monitoring for rural development projects.

Christian holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and Public Policy from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He also completed a dual-study Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration in Baden-Württemberg.
