Daniel Jaar holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a MSc in Economics from Universidad de Chile. His research lies at the intersection of macroeconomics, labour, and development economics, with a focus on how limited state capacity affects household behaviour, labour market outcomes, and government policy in developing countries.During his Max Weber Fellowship, Daniel aims to collaborate with other MW Fellows and members of the EUI Department of Economics to further develop and expand his research agenda on macroeconomic issues in emerging economies. Following the Fellowship, he will join the Instituto de Economía at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile as an Assistant Professor.
