Daniela Iorio is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna and a faculty member of the Florence School of Transnational Governance at the European University Institute. She received her PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and has previously taught at the University of Southern California, Claremont McKenna College, the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the California Institute of Technology and the University of New South Wales.Her research spans Political Economy, Applied Econometrics, Labor Economics, and Health Economics. Her work has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, and the Journal of Health Economics.She is the recipient of the Oliver E. Williamson Prize for Best Article in the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization and of the Rita Levi Montalcini Research Grant (MIUR). She currently serves as Associate Editor of the European Economic Review.
