Biography
Ekram Ul Sadique is a diplomacy and policy practitioner with twelve years of experience across South Asian and European institutions. He spent nearly a decade at the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka, leading trade facilitation, ministerial visits, and crisis response, including COVID-19 repatriation efforts and a 3.5 million dollar humanitarian field hospital project in Cox's Bazar. He also coordinated the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and MATRADE, and served as Executive Assistant to the High Commissioner. He later worked as a Policy Analyst at the British High Commission, producing political analysis for the UK Foreign Office. He holds a Master in Business Studies, a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management, and an Executive Master in Policy and Governance, awarded cum laude by the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance at North South University. Currently based in Berlin, advising Nexus Politics on democratic engagement across Europe.
At the STG, Ekram is developing a practical framework for integrating youth-led civil society into formal diplomatic structures across Europe and South Asia, shaped by his own path between two governance traditions and by Bangladesh's recent history of youth-led political change. His research connects diplomatic practice, geopolitics, climate vulnerability, and democratic renewal. He hopes to carry this work forward into further research and a long-term career shaping economic and political diplomacy, climate, governance, and foreign policy between Europe and South Asia.
