Professor of History of Post-War European Cooperation and IntegrationFederico Romero joined the History Department in 2010 as Chair in History of Post-War European Cooperation and Integration. He served as Head of Department (2012-15) and Dean of Research (2019-2021). Before joining EUI he taught at the London School of Economics, the College of Europe, the University of Bologna and the University of Firenze. He has been a Visiting Fellow at Yale University, Columbia University and the University of New Mexico.A specialist on 20th Century international and transnational history, he researched various aspects of the Cold War and trans-Atlantic relations, particularly the Marshall Plan and post-war European reconstruction, migration and European integration, Italy’s place in Europe and the Atlantic world.From 2015 to 2020 he directed the ERC Advanced Project “Looking West: the European Socialist regimes facing pan-European cooperation and the European Community (PANEUR1970S).
