Biography

Giovanni Colzi is a Policy Officer at the European Commission, where he advises the Director on international maritime transport relations, coordinates dialogues with third countries, manages EU-level cooperation on short sea shipping, and provides expertise on shipping market developments. Previously, he served for eleven years as a Navy Officer, leading multinational teams in NATO and EU missions and overseeing operations in maritime security, crisis response, and diplomacy. Giovanni holds master’s degrees in Maritime and Naval Sciences, International Studies, and Shipping and Logistics.
