Biography

Leo Kaas joined the EUI in September 2025, taking leave as a professor of macroeconomics from Goethe University Frankfurt.

Previously he held faculty positions at the University of Konstanz and at the University of Vienna.
He is a research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and an Associate Editor for Macroeconomic Dynamics.
His research focuses on labor market dynamics, household and firm heterogeneity, credit market frictions, housing markets and macroeconomic dynamics.
His publications include papers in the American Economic Review, Economic Journal, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics and Review of Economic Studies.
