Biography

Leopoldo Pérez Obregón is a legal and policy professional specialising in finance and banking supervision. He earned his law degree from Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires, and holds a master’s degree in public policy from Maastricht University and the United Nations University–MERIT.

He is currently part of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) team at the Florence School of Banking and Finance, where he edits the Banking Supervision Policy Working Paper Series in the framework of a partnership with the European Central Bank.

Before moving into academia, he spent over six years working in Argentina as a capital markets lawyer and financial supervisor at the country’s financial authority.
