Lorenzo Cecchetti is a FWO Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for European Law of the KU Leuven and Visiting Fellow at the Department of Law of the European University Institute (EUI). His current research focuses on the role of fundamental social rights in the EU constitutional architecture.He holds a master’s degree in law from Luiss University, a PhD in European Law from the University of Bologna, and a Doctorat en Droit from the Université Paris II. After his PhD, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Luiss, where he taught EU internal market law and EU fundamental rights law.Dr. Cecchetti has been a Visiting Scholar at Durham University, a Research Visitor at the Centre for European Legal Studies of the University of Cambridge, and an Academic Visitor at the Institute of European and Comparative Law of the University of Oxford. He has also been a trainee judicial clerk at the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation, the European Court of Justice, and the Italian Constitutional Court.His main research areas include EU constitutional law, EU fundamental rights, EU social law, EU anti-discrimination law, EU judicial remedies, and EU internal market law.
