Biography
Before coming to the EUI, Lorenzo Termine was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sapienza University of Rome and an Adjunct Professor at both the University of International Studies of Rome (UNINT) and the American University of Rome. He is currently a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center and Research Coordinator at the Center for Geopolitical and IR Studies Geopolitica.info.
He holds a PhD in Political Studies from Sapienza University of Rome and has served as a Contributor to the Italian Ministry of Defense’s Institute for Research and Analysis (IRAD). He has also held visiting positions at Georgetown University, the Université Internationale de Rabat, and the University of Pittsburgh.
Lorenzo has extensive teaching experience across academic and professional platforms, including institutions such as Sapienza, UNINT, AUR, IULM, the Universities of Teramo, Tor Vergata, and Perugia, as well as the Italian Center for Higher Defense Studies and the think tank Geopolitica.info.
In addition to his doctoral training, he has completed advanced courses and programs at IPSA, ECPR, East China Normal University, TOChina, Torino World Affairs Institute, the Stimson Center, the International Public Policy Association, and the EU Non-Proliferation Consortium.
His research interests include international politics and security, with a focus on Italy’s foreign and security policy engagement with the Indo-Pacific, US-China competition, and nuclear weapons.
