Natalia Menéndez González is a PhD candidate at the European University Institute where she researches the proportionality within the use of Facial Recognition Technology. She is also a Research Associate at the Centre for a Digital Society and a teaching assistant at the School of Transnational Governance.Menéndez González is co-founder of ‘The DigiCon’ blog. In addition, she is a visiting researcher at the Biometrics Law Lab of the Center for IT & IP Law at the KU Leuven Faculty of Law and Criminology and former vice-chair of the PhD students in AI Ethics research group. Her other research interests include AI ethics, especially for natural language processing, and the intersection between artificial intelligence and democracy.
