Biography

Raquel Vanyó is an Assistant Professor of Public International Law and International Relations and a member of the Human Rights Institute at the University of Valencia. She serves as Co-Director of the International Human Rights Clinic and as Academic Director of the United Nations Depositary Library (ONUBib) at the University of Valencia.

Her research interests encompass human rights, gender, peace and security studies, armed conflicts, and transitional justice. She is the author of numerous publications, including the monograph “Horizonte 1325: cartografía del posconflicto con perspectiva de género (Aranzadi Thomson-Reuters, 2016)”. She has undertaken research at renowned academic institutions across Europe and the Americas.

She is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Law of the European University Institute (EUI), supported by a José Castillejo Fellowship awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. During her stay at the EUI, she is developing the research project “Towards Zero Tolerance in the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP): A Challenge for EU Peacekeeping Missions (ZERO-T-CSDP)”. This project examines the effective implementation of the United Nations’ Zero Tolerance Policy on sexual exploitation and abuse within the CSDP framework, with particular attention to the European Union’s ongoing peacekeeping missions.
