Biography

Sarah Glaser is completing her PhD in Law at Sciences Po Paris. Her thesis develops a theory of justice in the field of bio-innovation. She has been a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris as well as a full-time teaching fellow at the Univeristé de Paris Cité. Prior to her legal studies in EU law and Economic law, Sarah was enrolled as a civil servant at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, where she studied German Literature and History. She has received grants for research stays at Cambridge and at the Max-Planck Institute in Heidelberg.

As a Max Weber Fellow, Sarah will study the laws of natural environments, particularly forests. Her research aims to offer a legal cartography of European forests; the study will explore the assumptions underpinning the legal concepts structuring the way EU law apprehends understands forest life, leading to a normative assessment of the adequacy of EU regulations in the field.

Sarah has published parts of her legal research in books and peer-reviewed journals, such as the Common Market Law Review. Her first novel has found a publisher.
