Biography

Yusaku is a mid-career diplomat currently working in Ukraine with 10 years of experience in political affairs, foreign policy, peace and security. Previously, he worked at the UN Liaison Office for Peace and Security (UNLOPS) in Brussels, the Japanese Representation to the EU, and the MOFA HQ in Tokyo on matters relating to the EU, NATO and Russia. Yusaku has a Ph.D. specialised in Russian and East European Studies, and a Government Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP). He is a native Japanese with fluency in English, French and Russian.
