He set up a fund to finance a “Prize for the Best Comparative Study of Political Institutions” in memoriam of his son, François. The prize is awarded annually for the best EUI thesis analysing political institutions in a comparative way. It has a value of € 2.000. Christopher Hanretty of the SPS Department is the first researcher who has received this prize.
