Purpose
Main goals:This course has three main goals:
1. To explain the summer report requirement;
2. To present this requirement through the lens of the three main areas of economic research;
3. To provide guidance, beyond the summer report, on how to start a thesis project, and specifically on how to conceive, write and publish a paper in economics.
Description
Structure:
The course will have six main sections. The first is an introductory lecture specifically focused on the summer report requirement. The next ve lectures will move to the second
and third goals from the perspectives of Macroeconomics (Jesus Bueren), Microecononics (Zeinab Aboutalebi), Econometrics (Alessandro Tarozzi), political economy (Eric Jones),
and household finance (Annika Bacher) with a particular attention on how to integrate the theoretical and empirical work.
In addition to the lectures, the faculty members will have office hours to meet with students to discuss the requirement and specific research ideas.

Evaluation:
This has no exam. Attendance is required.
