Description
This seminar aims to give researchers an understanding in the main debates of comparative law and its methods. For example, they will be made familiar with the principal features of a range of domestic and transnational legal orders, the functional approach to comparative law and the major groupings of the world’s legal systems. In detail, in the first part, the seminar will consider the aims and method of comparative law. The knowledge gained in the first part will be applied in the second part, when this method will be used to focus upon a range of selected topics of relevance to comparative law, including for example transnational law and law & development.
First, Second & Third Term: registration from 19 to 26 September.
