Purpose

This workshop introduces researchers to statistical programming using R and RStudio. Researchers will learn how to import social science surveys into R, perform basic descriptive statistics, learn how to visualise data and how to share their results.

By the end of the workshop, researchers will be familiar with R and will have acquired the basic skills of statistical programming.

The workshop is strongly recommended for ALL SPS researchers who have little or no experience in R. Even if a researcher is absolutely sure they will never use R or any other programming language in their own research, the vast majority of other researchers do practice some sort of programming, so having a basic understanding of R will likely come in very handy in the evaluation of the work of others' in one's own area.
