Purpose
The Field Course in Comparative Politics introduces graduate students to key topics and current debates in domestic politics around the world. Each week features both foundational readings and more recent scholarship that provides inspirational examples for students' own research.
The course covers a broad range of topics, including democracy and democratization, non-democratic and electoral authoritarian regimes, electoral systems and parliaments, parties and party systems, immigration, democratic backsliding, inequality and redistribution, voting and values, nationalism, and polarization.
