Purpose
SOEPcampus is a workshop offering a hands-on introduction to applied panel data analysis with the German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP), a rich household panel collected annually since 1984. Participants gain a working knowledge of SOEP's contents, data structures, sampling methods, and weighting procedures, and are introduced to estimation strategies suited to panel data with different units of analysis, such as households, individuals, and dyads. Emphasizing practical applications and analytical techniques, the workshop equips attendees with skills for working with household panel data. The workshop combines lectures with hands-on tutorial sessions. Participants should have basic knowledge of R or Stata and be familiar with descriptive statistics and regression analysis.
