EUI Researchers Meet President Napolitano and President Wulff

Researchers with Presidents Napolitano and WulffOn 8 July, Five German EUI PhD researchers (Christoph Bertsch, Johanna Croon, Josef Hien, Karena Kalmbach and Dennis-Jonathan Mann) and a former Italian EUI visiting fellow (Gabriele D'Ottavio) were among the 24 young researchers/professionals that discussed the Italian-German relations and the future of Europe with the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, and the President of the German Federal Republic, Christian Wulff.

The three main topics of the meeting were: Solidarity and Solidity: The Future of the Euro; The Role of the European Union in the World (with particular reference to the issues of the European borders and neighbours) and  Italy and Germany in the EU. The discussion was chaired by Mariolina Sattanino, correspondent for the Italian public service broadcaster RAI in Bruxelles, and by Christina von Ungern-Sternberg,  Reporter for the German TV Phoenix.

The meeting was held at the Centre Villa Vigoni, Loveno di Menaggio (Como).
