The EUI’s application deadline for 160 post-graduate grants starting in academic year 2012/13 expired at midnight on 31 January.
The EUI Academic Service reports that 1660 applications have been filed via the electronic applications system.
This marked a 29% increase over 2011, when 1280 applications were filed. Short-listed candidates will be invited for interviews in early spring.
‘The increase is very encouraging, not least because it is shared across all departments, with peaks in law and history’, commented Dr Andreas Frijdal, Director of the Academic Service. ‘It can be seen as a clear recognition of the excellent level of our PhD programme.’
