Biography

Dr. Elaine Fahey  completed her Ph.D at Trinity College Dublin, Master of Law (European) (LL.M) at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, Bachelor of Law (LL.B) at Trinity College Dublin; Barrister at law (Kings Inns), Attorney-at-law (New York). She was previously a Lecturer in Law, Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland and a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow, European University Institute. She is a winner of the Lyndon Stanford prize and Leonard Coling Scholarship at the University of Cambridge and was a Scholar of Trinity College Dublin. She has held Visiting Fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies in London, the Global Governance Programme, Robert Schuman Centre, European University Institute and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor Law School.
She has practised at the Irish bar and was Chairperson of the Irish Society for European Law. She has written two monograph texts on EU Law in Ireland . Her research interests include Global Governance and Law, EU-US Relations and the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice.
