Biography

Akisato Suzuki is a political scientist; his general research interests include the causes of non-electoral forms of politics such as armed conflict, corruption, and protests. He is also interested in political leadership, the politics of East and South Asia, and research methodology. Aki obtained his PhD from Dublin City University in 2015. His thesis examined causality between nationalism and revisionist foreign policy. In his current postdoctoral project, he is focusing on the role of citizens in international conflict. During the Fellowship, he hopes to write up one or two papers on this topic.His publications have appeared in Cooperation and Conflict, the Journal of Development StudiesResearch and PoliticsEuropean Political Science, and Federal Governance. Their details are available at his Google Scholar profile.Aki’s teaching expertise includes international/ethnic conflict, quantitative methods, and research design. Previously he has taught at Dublin City University, James Madison University in Florence, the IBEI, and the University of Bucharest.
