Biography

Alessandro's research interests lie at the interface between law and politics. He specialises in European law and EU external relations law.

He obtained a PhD in Law from Sciences Po Paris in December 2021. The thesis, developed under the supervision of Loïc Azoulai, is entitled 'Wider Europe: the extension of the EU legal space'. It reflects on the constellation of legal techniques and politico-institutional arrangements characterising the EU neighbourhood relations.

Alessandro holds an LLM from the EUI and a MA in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges. He has been a Blue Book trainee at the European Commission in Brussels working in the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

He has designed courses including 'EU law and diplomacy' and 'The law and practice of the European Neighbourhood Policy' which he taught at Sciences Po (Paris, Reims, Nancy) at the undergraduate level. He has also taught Comparative Constitutional Law's conferèrences de methode. Besides, he has intervened in classes on EU economic law in the domain of EU external relations at the postgraduate level.
