New Research Fellow joins the ADGRC

A new research fellow joined the staff working at the Alcide De Gasperi Research Centre (ADGRC) in September 2017. Professor Luciano Bardi is a Professor of Comparative Politics and International Relations at the University of Pisa.

He was a member of the Executive Committee of the European Consortium of Political Research (ECPR) between 2006 and 2009, he later served as chair of  this Committee between 2009 and 2012. Mr Bardi is a seasoned academic with a lot of experience in the field of EU studies, beginning with his PhD dissertation on the representativeness of members of the European Parliament, which was financed by the National Science Foundation (USA) in 1978. In the following decade, he directed or participated in numerous research projects on subjects related to the European Union.

His main research interests include political parties at the national and European level, party systems, elections, democracy and representation in the European Parliament. He has published extensively in the field of Comparative European Politics, EU Parties and Party Systems.
